Gallery E - Models by Bob Schilling

1/16th Tamiya Kubelwagon: Model built straight from the kit, no modifications. Base color used was Model Masters #1955 Afrika Mustard with light over spray of Aervo #967 Earth Red and Holly Way #125 Olive Drab camouflage pattern. Model needs added weight to run effectively in loose dirt.

1/16th Tamiya King Tiger II: Includes conversion to Henschel Turret and installation of MF-01/T-03 kit. Because this model was completed immediately after the Tamiya Tiger 1 came out, it may be the “first” Henschel Turret King Tiger with full option system.  This tank has zimmerit fashioned after that used by Schwer Panzer Abteilung 505, and shows battle damage to both fenders.  More detailing and unit markings are to be applied.  Base color used was Model Masters #1955 Afrika Mustard with light over spray of Aervo #967 Earth Red and Holly Way #125 Olive Drab camouflage pattern.

1/16th Tamiya King Tiger II: A second King Tiger with Henschel Turret conversion and installation of  MF-01/T-03 kit. This model shows battle damage to both fenders and has zimmerit pattern based on Kampfgruppe Schilling, a little known Battle Group that served on the Eastern front.  More detailing and unit markings are to be applied.  Base color used was Model Masters #1955 Afrika Mustard with light over spray of Aervo #967 Earth Red and Holly Way #125 Olive Drab camouflage pattern. Commander figure is from Verlinden (#959).

1/16th Tamiya King Tiger IIs:   It is August 1944 and both Henschel King Tigers are taking a much need break in town waiting for their CO to come back with their new orders.

1/16th Tamiya Panzer VI Tiger I: #02, converted to mid production run Tiger with MF-01/T-03 kit.  Zimmerit is patterned after Schwer Panzer Abteilung 506.  More detailing and unit markings are to be applied.  Base color used was Model Masters #1955 Afrika Mustard with light over spray of Aervo #967 Earth Red and Holly Way #125 Olive Drab camouflage pattern.

1/15th Bandai Hummel:  Stock Bandai kit with DMD T-01 controller added.  Gearbox was modified and Traxxas #4578  380 PH motors were added. Camo netting, racks and other detailing to be applied.  Base color used was Model Masters #1955 Afrika Mustard with light over spray of Aervo #967 Earth Red and Holly Way #125 Olive Drab camouflage pattern.

1/16th Dreaded 88mm AA Gun:  This is a very detailed, 2 piece, cast pewter, “desktop” model of the famous German gun.  It can be purchased from Grendel’s Cave thru eBay.  Armor in the form of a metal shield has been added, and the model is painted with Model Masters #1955 Afrika Mustard.  Camouflage paint scheme will be added later, as well as a gun crew.  Sand bags are from Model Masters.
