Gallery B - FRAG Normandy Village, October 27, 2001

Dead in his sights!  This Tiger is about to become history, as a 105 mm Sherman opens up from the edge of the village.  The Model Masters stone walls are made of cast resin and fall over if climbed by a tank.

This Bandai Mk IV model has been kit-bashed into a long barreled Ausf G, with side Schurzen.  It has been modified to include the Tamiya MF-01 Multi-Function Kit.  For installation details, refer to FRAG's Page: Advanced Hints 2.

Remember “Kelly’s Heroes”, where the Tiger was parked in the square protecting the bank? Sadly, there is no gold in the building this Tiger protects, only bread.
Here a Bandai Mk IV f2 supports the Panzer Grenadiers assigned to retake the village from the American 1st Division…..no easy task!
More armored support is arriving.   The damaged building took a hit from an 88 in yesterday's battle.  The sandbag barricades are from Model Masters.  More battle damaged buildings are planned, which will permit additional hiding places for ambush.
Except for the Tiger I, this scene could be the German push through France in 1940.  Even so, Panzer Gray makes for fine looking models.  More Grenadiers are arriving, but the one in the lower left seems a bit anxious.  His comrades better step lively if he throws that grenade!
This is a closer shot of Tiger #214.  The rubble was made from crushed bricks, with doll house and model train detail parts added.  The stucco treatment of our buildings is a product called “Rough Stuff”, found at most building supply  centers.  It can be mixed in any color with latex paint.
The Americans counter attack.  The Germans are ready, but from the looks of things, those sandbags and barricades  aren’t stopping any Sherman. No doubt Herman the German is wondering where all of his Tiger support went!
This is another shot of the M4A3E8 “Easy Eight” conversion of a stock Tamiya Sherman. The modifications include the new Tamiya Sherman MF-01 sound system.  The T-23 turret and extras came from Model Masters.
This is a better side view of the M4A3E8, at rest in the village square.  The town has been retaken and the crew is off for chow.
