Gallery A - FRAG Battle Day, October 27, 2001

` The club has constructed maintenance and repair tables at the side of the battlefield.  Here, a Bandai Hummel and Tamiya Tiger I dwarf a Kubelwagen.
The tables were built at chest height to make viewing and servicing easier.  One member has created a platoon of Tigers with a similar camo scheme.
The tables were covered in black plastic to repel water, but initially did not have back boards.  When one unattended model rolled off because of duplicate frequencies, backboards were added by the next gathering.  Here one can see that the American’s were a little short on armor, and were using a captured Panzer Mk 4 to boost their firepower.
This picture shows a few variations in color for the standard models available.  The second Sherman has been up-gunned to an M4A3E8 with 76 mm cannon.
It may be small in comparison to the battle giants, but still a useful model.  It scoots around the battlefield running messages here and there.
This King Tiger is detailed in Normandy colors and is fully equipped with the MF-01 Multi-Function Kit.  This makes an awesome partner to the Tamiya Tiger 1.
This Sherman was knocked out with one shot, but the King Tiger is making sure before it moves through the village.
Here’s a better view of the battle damage the King Tiger caused. In the background are the beginnings of the canal which flows into the village.  A few boats and a lot of dockside clutter are planned.
In this battle, there were three ways into the village.  This Tiger has been posted at one bridge to make sure that the enemy does not pass.  If it’s knocked out, the same purpose is accomplished, as it’s a one lane bridge.
In a later battle, another Tiger brother has been given the same assignment.  The village is behind the tank about 20 feet.
A better view of the massive appearance of a Tiger.  The village church steeple in the background, is in reality, our county courthouse and jail!  Yes we have pretty good police protection.  This Tiger is also equipped with the Tamiya Battle Unit.
This  “Easy Eight” Sherman is on it's way to the village to do battle with the Tigers.  Although it is "up-gunned" with a 76mm cannon, without help, this Sherman may not survive!
This Tiger I stands his ground in the village.  He is a solemn warrior, in somewhat of a futile situation.  But never the less, a worthy adversary.
